Armoy is located in the Moyle District Council area and is one of the gateways to the scenic Glens of Antrim. Armoy is a rural community and has an area population of 2189, with about 1600 people living in the village of Armoy.
Armoy Community Association was established in 1994. The Community Association has set up a range of user groups including a playgroup, Over 55's group and a youth club. The association also delivers recreational and educational courses.
Armoy became a Health Action Zone area in January 2003. An Inter-agency group was established, to provide support to Armoy Community Association and its range of existing programmes and initiatives. Armoy Inter-agency group meets quarterly and is administrated and chaired by Supporting Community NI (formerly the Northern Ireland Tenants Action Project - NITAP).
